You're squatting on names, of a private company,
they built and paid for, hoping to score free value, (not even pay for the names like domain names),

and bitching?

Does your mommy still give you free lunch too?

This is a Rip off.

Boston Celtics should have gone with bostonceltics. This should have been the only option.

The ICANN does not work like this, if you own celtics.com and someone name Bob Celtics, he is not entitled to the the Boston Celtics domain.

This whole thing is wrong

Remember, Twitter is about helping people stay in touch and share details about their lives. It's not about providing you with a free bot network.

Interesting situation and I have a dog in this race. Like Steve, I have several high-profile names registered and have been toying with different models for making these into both a useful and profitable service.

This has been my biggest reservation since I first got wrapped up in Twitter. If I have no real claim to these names, how can I justify the time and expense required to create anything of value (for my followers as well as myself) out of them? By stifling account holders in this way, Twitter is holding itself back.
