Spring Cleaning: I just deleted 29 domains.
By Steve Poland • October 18, 2007
OK, so it’s not spring time, but man does it feel great to delete 29 domains from my account. I’m now down to only 45 crazy idea domains.
My buddies and I use to use the term “spring cleaning” when we’d go through our cell and delete the phone numbers of girls we met at bars, etc. Always felt empowering to just hit ‘delete’ — even if we’d never be using the phone number anyhow (and even if they wouldn’t know who we were if we were to ever call).
If you’re looking for a burst of “self”, go delete those domains you’ll never be using anyway.

Got something to say?

Hey, no point in deleting good names… but if they’re gone, you mind emailing me a list of them? I might register some… I’m bulking up on domains right now…
Congratulations. My opinion is that it’s important to gather inspiration where you can; if having a URL registered is the first step in getting a good brainstorm going for what might be a new endeavor, then more power to you. But (using your analogy) I think you’ll find by having deleted 29 “girls you met in bars”, you’ll be able to spend more time cultivating relationships with the ones you decided to keep around.
My “spring cleaning” is deleting all the overdraft messages on my bank account…
You know what they say: one man’s trashy domains, is another man’s… well you know. Give it up man! What a tease! Post the list here and watch the thread go berserk! Oh, they all DOT info? #-o
Steve - send me the list of domains, curious to see if I might want any. Hope you are well.
