My opinion is that it's important to gather inspiration where you can; if having a URL registered is the first step in getting a good brainstorm going for what might be a new endeavor, then more power to you. But (using your analogy) I think you'll find by having deleted 29 "girls you met in bars", you'll be able to spend more time cultivating relationships with the ones you decided to keep around. Congratulations.
