something is screwed up with the edgeio posting process. I tried posting something 5 or 6 times, and finally gave up in frustration. Every time after posting, I was taken to a “distribute/preview” page, whereupon clicking continue would return me to “Create a post”! Once I got as far as entering my credit card details, and again, was returned to “Create a Post”.

    Very frustrating, please fix.

@Spencer — Yes, there are some problems at the moment. Edgeio is working on them. Your problem is the same everyone else is getting. Check your cookies for ‘web2.0forsale.com’ or ‘edgeio.net’ or ‘edgeio.com’ — send the vars/values to support@edgeio.com, as they work to fix this bug. Thanks and Sorry for the problems; hopefully you can try again real soon.

Any successful web2.0 deal so far?

FYI — Everything appears fixed. After you post your listing, give it up to 2 minutes to officially post.

I think it’s a great idea. However, too many of the web properties for sale there are just Web 2.0-ish sounding domains (listing at thousands or tens of thousands of dollars).

It also appears that most of the non-domain properties are grossly inflated. Listing a web application at $250,000 or even $20,000 doesn’t mean it’s worth that - without a successful, working business behind it I can’t imagine that most of these will attract buyers.

I can envision filtering these properties by hand - having a team consult with the seller to review their business plan, rate the property, etc. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have enough confidence in these properties to seriously consider them.

First a nod to Steve for setting up what has turned out to be one of our most popular classified boards. Thanks Steve.

We had a few operational issues yesterday that prevented people from creating new listings. Those issues have now been solved. We are also working on making the lag between publishing a listing and having it appear on a Classified Board nearly instantaneous. This is going to take some more time, but it is one of our highest priorities.

If anyone has questions / comments for edgeio, please share them with us at support@edgeio.com.

    Hi there

I wanted to let you know that the problems we faced yesterday weere narrowed down to the interaction between a cache server and a load balancing server. The result was a significant slowdown in posting times.

We seem to have it fixed now. Thanks for your copmments and understanding.

Any traffic statistics on this site? I am thinking about posting my site ..., which is a place where people can keep a restaurant blog.

@Eddie Kim — I don’t have stats implemented yet for the site; but go through each listing and you can see the # of views on each.

I’ve just launched a PPC campaign as well to drive further traffic.

Got something to say?
